DBasia.news – Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu feels there must be a LaLiga match held outside Spain. Plans to play matches outside Spain came to light at the start of the season. The match between Barcelona versus Girona was planned to become the first match to be held outside of Spain but was canceled after many parties refused.
“If we want La Liga to be strong, we have to play in this match,” Bartomeu said.
He also gave advice to LaLiga if they want to hold matches outside of Spain. For him, there are three regions that can host LaLiga matches.
“At Barcelona, we sometimes talk to LaLiga and tell them that if you want to promote La Liga, we have to compete in these three places: one in America, one in the Middle East and one in Asia.”
“We have to go and get closer to the fans. We did a summer tour in July and August to get closer to the fans. If we show respect to them, going to Miami will respect our fans in the US,” he said.
