Barcelona Seriously Interested in Celta Vigo Attackers
By news-admin
Maxi Gomez
DBasia.news – Luis Suarez is 32 years old and FC Barcelona is still looking for the right person to replace him. That choice fell to compatriot Suarez who played in Celta Vigo, Maxi Gomez.
The Blaugrana had been aiming for the Uruguayan attacker since last January. However, in the end, Barca chose to borrow Kevin-Prince Boateng from Sassuolo with a permanent option at the end of the season. Judging by Boateng’s performance with the club lately, small Barca opportunities to activate the purchase clause.
Barcelona are more interested in bringing Gomez who is considered to have a typical play not much different from Suarez. Gomez has played 24 times in La Liga and scored nine goals and provided five assists for Vigo.
Reporting from Sport-English, Barca will continue to monitor Gomez and try to make an initial agreement to Celta and players. The former Sporting Defensor player has a 50 million euro purchase clause, however, if Celta is relegated then the clause will drop to 25 million euros.
Barca will monitor the progress of the Gomez situation and try to establish an agreement because other European clubs also estimate Gomez. At present, Vigo are in the relegation zone (ranked 18 La Liga) with 25 points, one point adrift of Real Valladolid and Villarreal above them.
