DBasia.news – Barcelona will most likely lose its target, Matthijs de Ligt. The Ajax captain chose the option to join Juventus.
Barcelona actually has the chance to bring in De Ligt. The 19-year-old has expressed his interest in playing with Frenkie de Jong who decided to go to Barcelona this summer.
However, Barcelona’s main problem in failing to recruit De Ligt was because of salary issues. Barcelona objects to paying De Ligt 12 million euros per year for five seasons.
With a large tax on foreign employment in Spain, Barcelona must spend 120 million euros to pay De Ligt until 2024.
The last problem came from De Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola. The agent requested a 20 percent commission from De Ligt’s transfer.
