Barcelona’s Strategy to Recruit Neymar from PSG

DBasia.news –  According to news from German media, Bild, Barcelona will offer four players to PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) to bring Neymar back to Camp Nou.

Barca under the care of Ernesto Valverde have recruited two players for the main team in the transfer market this summer: Neto and Griezmann. While the remaining four players for the youth team aka Barcelona B: Ludovit Reis, Mike van Beijnen, Hiroki Abe, and Louie Barry.

Recently, Griezmann’s soap opera ended when Barcelona redeemed a purchase clause from Atletico Madrid for 120 million euros. Despite the fact that the Atletico camp did not accept the fee and asked for more.

According to Atletico’s version of the story, Barca reached an agreement with Griezmann long before July 1, 2019 when the purchase clause dropped from 200 million euros to 120 million euros. Atletico will continue the claim process as they possess evidence.

However, Barcelona continued to maneuver in the player’s transfer market and target Neymar, despite recruiting Griezmann. After issuing 120 million euros, Barca could no longer spend a lot of funds as this could potentially violate the FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules.

No doubt selling a few players or releasing them to reduce salary expenses is one solution. Barca, according to Bild, will offer four players and PSG can choose three of them, namely: Ousmane Dembele, Nelson Semedo, Samuel Umtiti, and Philippe Coutinho.

Not only being given the option of choosing three players, Barcelona also hoped PSG agrees to reduce Neymar’s worth and release him at 130 million euros instead of 222 million euros which was the world transfer record when PSG purchased from Barca two years ago.

PSG has indeed softened regarding Neymar. Leonardo, PSG’s Sports Director, confirmed the departure of the 27-year-old player could have happened if there was a right offer coming to PSG.

Les Parisiens has also begun to run out of patience with Neymar because in the past two years, Neymar has been injured too often, lives in glamor outside of the playing field like a celebrity, and is unable to contribute to big matches.

After Griezmann’s soap opera ended, Barcelona will now try to complete another mega transfer by bringing Neymar home to Camp Nou.
