DBasia.news – The 2012 Champions League Final had been the most disappointing moment for Bayern Munich. Playing at home, Die Roten had to surrender from Chelsea through the shootout.

Munich appeared dominant in the match. The German giant was almost the champion as until the 88th minute, they still won 1-0 through Thomas Muller’s goal.

But the catastrophe then came beginning with Chelsea’s equalizing goal through Didier Drogba’s header. The match had to be continued into extra time round.

Munich continued to have the opportunity to win the victory when rewarded with a penalty. Unfortunately, Arjen Robben who advanced as the executor failed to carry out his duties.

The winner of this match must ultimately be determined by a high-five fighter. The god of luck favored Chelsea in this round.

Of the five Chelsea executioners, only Juan Mata who failed to carry out his duties. While Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ivica Olic became prisoners of Munich.

Schweinsteiger now revealed a surprising fact related to the defeat. He mentioned that many Munich players at that time refused to become executors of the penalty.

“Almost all of them (no one dared to do so). They flocked away, raised their hands and said, ‘I don’t want to’, “Schweinsteiger said.

The player who retired last year also claimed he was devastated after his execution failed to show results. His kick had hit the pole and bounced out.

“I don’t want to see disappointed faces. But now I know I can’t do better and it’s over.” he added.

Schweinsteiger does not need to regret the failure. A year later, Munich was able to make it up by winning the title after beating Borussia Dortmund in the final.
