By db-admin

DBasia.news –  The Bundesliga formally sanctioned a three-year ban on the supporters of Borussia Dortmund. Die Borussen’s fans were banned from watching matches for three years when their proud team had to travel to Hoffenheim’s headquarters, Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

This decision was taken by the Bundesliga authorities to prevent clashes between the two supporters.

Quoted from ESPN, Thursday (2/20/2020) Dortmund reportedly will not appeal the decision. As in the span of two years back, the two supporters have always been in an incident.

In November 2018, Dortmund received a fine of 50 thousand euros and a three-match ban away to Hoffenheim because of the behaviors of the supporters. The decision was taken as Dortmund fans unfurled a banner of threats aimed at Dietmar Hopp, owner of Hoffenheim.

“We urge the Bundesliga authorities to impose severe sanctions on Dortmund regarding the acts of the supporters. The banners they unfurled contained incitement to criminal conduct “.

The beginning of Dortmund fans in disliking Hoffenheim and Hopp occurred in 2008. At that time, Hopp, who was a software company billionaire, who took over Hoffenheim.

Dortmund supporters consider that the move could damage the culture of the Bundesliga mainly regarding the 50 + 1 rule, a rule that requires the Bundesliga club to share 50 percent, controlled by the supporter base.
