Borussia Dortmund
DBasia.news – CIES Football Observatory, as the center of soccer research, released a piece of information about the highest average stadium audience since 2013. As a result, Borussia Dortmund is at the forefront.
Based on the results of UEFA’s financial statements, the income from the audience to the stadium is one of the biggest. At least, revenue from the sector touched 40 percent of the total.
Indeed, the number of percentages returned to each club. However, at least the percentage above proves the importance of having a stadium with facilities that make the audience comfortable.
In conducting research, CIES analyzed spectator data coming to the stadium in 51 competitions in 42 countries. However, due to various limitations, they only explored 26 of them.
From these data, it is known the number of spectators who attended the stadium in the last five years. The chosen period is from the 2013-2014 season until 2017-2018.
The result was unexpected because the club with the highest number of spectators was Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund can bring in an average of 80,230 spectators every match.
This amount makes the audience that comes to the Borussia Dortmund match more than the top European clubs. Call it Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.
In the top 10 lists released by CIES, five of them are German clubs. Of these, one of them did not compete in the highest caste of The Bundesliga this time.
The following is a list of clubs with the highest number of viewers since the 2013 version of CIES:
1. Borussia Dortmund – 82,230
2. Manchester United – 75,218
3. Barcelona – 74,876
4. Bayern Munich – 73,781
5. Real Madrid – 69,822
