DBasia.news – Manchester United has made Harry Maguire the world’s most expensive defender when brought in the transfer market this summer from Leicester City. Maguire was purchased for £ 80 million.
Despite getting high attention and expectations, Maguire was able to show a pretty good performance in the first two games he played with Man United. Maguire appeared in full for 90 minutes when his team won 4-0 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford and the match ended in a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Former Maguire manager at Leicester, Brendan Rodgers, is not surprised by the performance shown by the England national team player. Rodgers was pleased to see a positive reaction to the performance of the players he had trained and had a professional and satisfying attitude.
“I’m not surprised by the satisfying performance shown by Harry Maguire. Maguire is a central defender with a very high quality. I am satisfied with what he has shown so far as I am thrilled with his attitude when we work together. “Maguire has a great opportunity to move to Manchester United and his influence can already be felt,” Brendan Rodgers said in a statement quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
Rodgers felt that Maguire’s presence at Man United had a positive impact and has made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s back line more stable. Rodgers sees Maguire as a calm player but can take strong action to secure his team.
