Burnley Won, Manchester United is getting worse

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  For the umpteenth time, the Red Devils have to defeat in the continued match of the Premier League on week 24. Unmitigated, Burnley is a team that managed to conquer the club based at Old Trafford.

Man United ran out of ideas to dismantle the sturdy defense of Sean Dyche’s Burnley defense. 73 percent possession, 24 attempted kicks, and seven kicks on target with no goals.

While the two kicks on target by Burnley all bear fruit to goals from Chris Wood (39 ‘) and Jay Rodriguez (56’). According to data from Opta, it was Burnley’s first victory since 1962 or rather 58 years ago.

Man United led by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had no solution to scoring in the match against Burnley without Marcus Rashford having a back injury. The situation is getting worse because the fans left Old Trafford before the game ended.

That means the fans don’t have the belief that there is an opportunity for Harry Maguire and his friends to reverse the situation. Sure enough, Burnley’s playing efficiency proved to be far more effective than Man United’s possession but lacked play creativity.

Man United has now recorded the worst start in the league since 1990, 30 points adrift from the first-placed standings, Liverpool, who have never lost and have two games that have not been played. As for Burnley, it was not only the first win since 1962 but also the first win with a clean sheet at Old Trafford since 1921.

Another sad note for Man United is the fact that since Solskjaer was appointed permanent manager in March 2019, Man United lost more in the Premier League (12) than won (11).

The defeat made it even more difficult for Man United to get into the top four of the Premier League alias the Champions League zone. They have a chance of squeezing Chelsea who drew 2-2 with Arsenal and failed to do so. Now both of them are six points adrift.
