DBasia.news – Inter Milan midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu, claims that he deliberately wanted to score a goal from a cornerkick when he met AS Roma in the 2021-2022 Serie A match, at the Stadio Olimpico, Sunday (5/12).
Hakan Calhanoglu scored Inter Milan’s opener in the 15th minute. The goal process was beautiful as it came from a corner kick. Calhanoglu directed the ball to the near post which was unable to be saved by Rui Patricio.
After the match, Calhanoglu explained the process of creating the goal. The midfielder confirmed that he had trained the kick.
“Yes, I did it to score goals. I always try to get to the near post from corner kicks. This time it went well,” Calhanoglu said as reported by DAZN.
In addition to scoring goals, Calhanoglu also provided assists for Inter’s second goal scored by Edin Dzeko. Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries scored the third goal in a 3-0 win.
“I’m also happy to assist Dzeko. Inter dominated the game. We didn’t let Roma develop the game at all. It was a great performance,” he added.
“We also have other great games against Juventus and AC Milan, apart from the draws. We never stopped believing.”
Hakan Calhanoglu’s appearance also increased compared to last season with Milan. The 27-year-old midfielder has scored five goals this season in Serie A. In fact, last season, Calhanoglu only scored four goals.
“I feel more confident now. I am also in great condition. I want to give my best for the club. The rest will come as a consequence,” added the Turkey international player.
