Chelsea Did Not Wear a New Jersey in the Champions League Final

By db-admin

DBasia.news – It has been confirmed that Chelsea will wear their current 2020-21 home jersey for the Champions League final against Manchester City on May 30.

Chelsea will meet Manchester City in the final at Estadio do Dragao, Sunday (30/5). This is an opportunity for the London team to end the season with a trophy.

Chelsea will indeed act as a guest team in the final match later. However, Thomas Tuchel’s team can still wear the home jersey because the colors do not clash with the Manchester City jersey.

Initially, Chelsea planned to wear their new home jersey for the 2021-2022 season. This shirt has been used when competing in the FA Cup final.

The Chelsea women’s team also wore the same jersey when they had the Champions League final in mid-May. Naturally, Kai Havertz and his friends would use the same uniform.

However Chelsea have confirmed to UEFA to keep the old main jersey. Even though the European football confederation allowed to change it by informing it in advance.

Afraid of Shit

Chelsea certainly have a special reason to keep using their old jersey. One of them is of course avoiding bad luck like in the 2008 final.

At that time, Chelsea chose to use a new jersey for next season when they challenged Manchester United in the final. The result, John Terry and his friends were beaten on penalties.

Meanwhile, when using the old jersey in the 2012 edition of the final, Chelsea was able to silence Bayern Munich at home and come out as champions. These two incidents appear to be their consideration.

Moreover, their latest home jersey has proved unsuccessful. Chelsea lost to Leicester in the FA Cup final, while their women’s team was crushed by Barcelona in the top match of the Champions League.
