Corona Virus Increases, Italian Government Officially Discontinues Serie A
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The Italian government officially postponed all sporting events including Serie A. This was revealed directly by the Italian Prime Minister, Giseppe Conte.
Of these cases, 97 people have died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll to 463, while 733 others are still in intensive care. Including those who have recovered, the number of people who have positively been contracted by the corona virus in Italy has reached 9,172.
Not wanting to take a risk, Conte gave an emergency announcement to the citizens of Italy and the red zone in Italy was expanded around Lombardy and the north until April 3, 2020.
“There is no more time, the numbers tell us there is a significant increase in transmission, in intensive care and death. Our habits must change, we have to sacrifice something for the good of all of Italy. This is why we will take decisive action,” Conte said from Football-Italia.
“I will sign a new decree, which can be concluded with the phrase ‘I live at home.’ There are no more red zones, only protected Italy. “
“We must avoid travel except for proven work reasons, health reasons or other needs. We prohibit large public gatherings.”
“We also have stricter measures for sporting events. Serie A and all sporting tournaments are generally suspended. All fans must accept that. There is no reason to continue this competition. “
Regarding the corona virus outbreak or COVID-19, FIGC and the Italian Players Association are concerned that delays in Serie A and B during the crisis still do not guarantee the health and safety of players and staff.
All sports including football are postponed until April 3, 2020. The impact is not only in Italy, but also predicted to teams that still compete in the Champions League and Europa League such as Atalanta, Napoli, Inter Milan, Juventus and AS Roma.
