David Beckham Said Training the England national team is a dream job
By db-admin
DBasia.news – David Beckham, a Manchester United legend, admitted it would be difficult to turn down offers to train the England national team. Beckham rated it as a dream job.
Retiring in 2013 with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Beckham did not continue his career into a coaching career, instead, he was busy forming a new team that will participate in MLS (Major League Soccer) next season, Inter Miami.
Nevertheless, football icons such as Beckham will be welcomed positively if one day becomes a coach, especially if he trains the England national team. Beckham has 115 caps with the Three Lions, 58 of which were when he was the captain in mid-2000-2006.
“I think some people in the FA (English Football Federation) see me as a candidate for England manager in the future, just because, maybe, I have had a successful career while captaining England,” Beckham said, as reported by the AS.
“If someone comes up to me and says ‘If the job of coaching England comes up, will you take it?’ Of course, I will think about it because I’m a passionate Englishman and I have a passion with the national team, but, is that good? Who knows?”
Beckham, 44, thinks England is in the right hands: Gareth Southgate. That evidence can be seen when England reached the 2018 World Cup semifinals, the first semifinal since 1990, before losing 1-2 to Croatia.
“This (training England) is a dream job, but Gareth is doing a very good job right now. He gives energy and passion back to the match and fans – including me – enjoy it,” explained Beckham.
