DBasia.news –  Lately, the appearance of David De Gea, Manchester United goalkeeper, is getting a sharp spotlight as he often blunders in important matches.

Most recently, De Gea’s blunder thwarted Man United’s efforts, which was pursuing a target of entering the Champions League zone, to win against Chelsea at Old Trafford on week 36 of the Premier League, Sunday (28/4) evening WIB.

Having a superior goal through Juan Mata, De Gea blundered when trying to dismiss Antonio Rudiger’s kick. Instead of sweeping the ball away from the danger zone or catching the ball, De Gea actually made a blunder and a wild ball was caught by Marcos Alonso. The score ended in a 1-1 draw.

The blunder, reported from Opta, means that De Gea has made three errors which have scored goals in his last four games in all competitions with United. That number has equaled a total of 123 matches for United. That is, De Gea’s blunder is getting worse.

Whether he thinks of the future because his contract will end soon with United, having begun to play lazily because the season will end and United have no trophy targets to pursue, De Gea’s appearance is unusual.

Keep in mind, the Spanish goalkeeper was selected three times as Man United’s Best Player from 2013 to 2018. No doubt came up a suggestions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United’s manager, so that De Gea would be reserved and replaced with Sergio Romero until the end of the season.

Solskjaer did not agree with that opinion. The manager from Norway has complete confidence in De Gea. According to him, it’s normal if the spotlight is on top of European players, not just goalkeepers, it will be heavier if they make a mistake.

“No, I’m really not (worrying about De Gea’s performance), because I know David. When you are a goalkeeper or your attacker is always in the spotlight and whenever you miss an opportunity or score a goal, you will be highlighted,” explained Solskjaer in the Mirror .

“This is the same as David, he has been highlighted for the right reasons for years and now he goes through a period where he feels he can be better. But, no, I’m not worried at all as he has a strong character.”

“There are many ways to get back to the best performance and, of course, I will sit and talk to David, like I did when he played well. But, he is not the reason we are in sixth place,” Solskjaer said.

The same support is also given by his compatriots, Mata. The former Chelsea player reminded the public and United fans that De Gea, in the past, often saved United in difficult moments and gave them points with his heroic rescue.

“His level has been very fantastic for this club. The acquisition of his points has saved us in a very great way. We all have bad and good moments, he decided to react positively. I am 100 percent sure of him,” concluded Mata.
