David De Gea Refused Manchester United’s Contract Extension
By news-admin
DBasia.news – The Spain national team goalkeeper, David De Gea, is rumored to refuse the new contract from Manchester United. The British report said the goalkeeper assumed the salary from The Red Devils isn’t as expected.
David De Gea is one of the world’s best goalkeepers. Though made some blunders in the 2018 World Cup, the goalkeeper had a positive record in Manchester United.
In the 2017-2018 season, De Gea was the key figure behind the strong defense of Man United. Moreover, the goalkeeper got the title as Premier League’s best goalkeeper.
No wonder, some Europe clubs aimed for his signature. Including Real Madrid since last season.
In accordance with that, Manchester United who didn’t want to lose De Gea gave the new contract. Later, De Gea will be signed in a 5-year contract.
Besides, Man United also would upgrade De Gea’s salary to 200,000 pounds for a week. This amount makes the former Atletico Madrid player becomes one of the highest paid players in Man United.
However, De Gea felt that the salary doesn’t worth what he did on the pitch. De Gea wants the same salary as Paul Pogba or Alexis Sanchez. Currently, Pogba has 290,000 pounds weekly salary while Sanchez 350,000 pounds weekly salary.
David De Gea hasn’t shown his excellent performance just like last season. In the two initial matches of Premier League, he conceded four goals.
