David De Gea’s Comments After Signing a New Contract with Manchester United
By db-admin
DBasia.news – David De Gea signs a new contract with Manchester United. The Spanish goalkeeper is binding a new contract until 2023.
Previously, Manchester United was cornered after David de Gea never agreed with the new contract. On the other hand, the goalkeeper is reportedly linked with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
Manchester United are well aware that losing De Gea will be a big disaster. Because it is difficult to find a goalkeeper with abilities like De Gea at a reasonable price. Moreover, De Gea has the opportunity to leave for free because the contract will expire on June 2020.
Manchester United also seduced De Gea by raising the player’s salary to 300 thousand pounds per week. Some media also reported the Red Devils promised the position of captain for the former Atletico Madrid player.
David de Gea finally accepted the proposal submitted by Manchester United. In fact, the issue developed if Man United pocketed the option to extend De Gea’s contract for another year.
Now, the 28-year-old goalkeeper is starting to collect Manchester United promises. He felt worthy of leading the Red Devils in the field.
“As one of the senior players in the team, I support and lead in any way. I can help young players so they know what it means to play here,” explained De Gea as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
“I still feel that I have a lot to accomplish at the club. I truly believe Manchester United can build tradition and reward supporters for their support,” he continued.
At present, the position of captain of Manchester United is held by Ashley Young. However, the 34-year-old is not a regular part of the first team. As a result, the opportunity for De Gea to take the armband is open.
David de Gea is indeed one of the most senior players at Manchester United. He has defended the banner of the Red Devils since 2011.
