DBasia.news –  David De Gea’s contract with Manchester United enters the last period. Man United manager Jose Mourinho stated a good news signaling that one of the world’s best players would stay.

David De Gea’s future in Manchester United remains a question. So far, the former Atletico Madrid player hasn’t signed the new contract. In fact, his contract would end this season. Consequently, he might leave with a free transfer status.

However, Mourinho believes De Gea would reach the deal soon with the club. The Special One feels lucky that De Gea guards The Red Devils’ net.

“He’s a world-class player, he’s the best goalkeeper in the world and if our ambitions are to be a big club, to be a winning club, you need the best goalkeeper in the world and you need also some other players who are the best in the world,” Mourinho explained in the club’s official website.

“We have the best goalkeeper in the world and I know he wants to stay.”

“I know his agent (Jorge Mendes, who is also Mourinho’s agent) is happy to do what the player wants and I also know the board wants him to stay and they are working on that so hopefully sooner or later they reach a conclusion,” the manager continued.

Mourinho also hails De Gea’s performance against Young Boys. Especially when the Spain national team goalkeeper countered Ulisses Garcia’s chance.

“I think David’s save, only one save in the whole game, looks like a phenomenal save. A save that the best goalkeeper in the world does and gives his team the possibility to win the match,” Mourinho emphasized.

“What David did is what the best goalkeeper in the world does. He is the best. He proves every time that he is the best. He makes saves that give you points.”

“In this case a case that gives you almost a qualification, because if we conceded that goal then we are in trouble. This is what he is, a world-class player,” the manager said.
