DBasia.news – Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea did 11 savings when visiting Wembley, Tottenham Hotspur home on the 22nd-week of Premier League, Sunday (13/1). In total, Spurs created 21 shots.

It’s not the heroic defense that could abort the attacks, but the 28-year-old goalkeeper did that.

The Atletico Madrid academy alumni did 11 savings and most by his feet. Just like an octopus with its tentacles, De Gea frustrated Tottenham.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Son Heung-min, Christian Eriksen, and Toby Alderweireld were frustrated to penetrate De Gea’s goal, who got conceded 32 goals in the Premier League.

The match ended and Man United achieved three crucial points in getting the top-four position in the Premier League, the zone of the Champions League. De Gea was chosen as the Man of the Match and got many compliments from the teammate and social media.

As always, De Gea humbled and assumed the three points achieved by the team collectivity. He also underlined the distinct situation between Solskjaer and Mourinho era.

“We still believe we can finish in the top four. We are United, we have good players and we are fighting to finish in the top four. It was very good, especially at Wembley. It was three very important points,” De Gea said cited by BBC Sport.

“I am very happy with my performance and the team is playing very well, creating chances and playing more attacking football. We have had three clean sheets in a row, which is very good.”

“The players are happy, you can see that on the pitch, and they play with passion, like Manchester United,” De Gea added.

Implicitly, De Gea satirized The Red Devils under Mourinho with the pragmatical, careful, and relied on the counter-attack. Moreover, they didn’t play passionately.

De Gea has been playing for United since 2011 and experienced the different eras under Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes, Ryan Giggs (interim manager), Louis van Gaal, Mourinho, and now Solskjaer. So, he really understands the identity of the team who achieved 20 Premier League titles.
