DBasia.news – Inter Milan coach Luciano Spalletti said that he is delighted to see his team’s reaction while playing a 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the Champions League match at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.
Spalletti hails them despite the failure to achieve three points in that match.
Inter Milan got conceded first by the goal from Malcom at 83′. However, Mauro Icardi became the hero after scoring the goal at 87′.
“Barcelona represents the highest level of difficulty that there is. Barcelona have also shown that they are one of the best clubs in the world. During the first game, we didn’t manage to keep the ball well enough to turn the game around,” Spalletti said.
“It seemed likely it would end goalless, but then they went ahead suddenly. But overall my players’ reaction, summed up by the way Icardi gets the ball from the back of the net, is a very strong indication of the mentality of the squad,” he said.
Inter Milan are in the second position with 7 points in Group A Champions League temporary standing. Meanwhile, Barcelona lead the table with 10 points.
