DBasia.news –  Dejan Petkovic, former Real Madrid player in the 1995-1997 period, had great hopes for Luka Jovic at Real Madrid. He hopes Madrid fans will be patient to wait wait for the best performance of the former Frankfurt Eintracht player.

Jovic, 21, was purchased by Madrid from Frankfurt for 60 million euros. The Serbian pass striker, allegedly, was prepared by Madrid as a successor candidate for the 31-year-old Karim Benzema.

However, there is no guarantee that Jovic will play regularly as he got in Frankfurt. Petkovic hopes that Jovic can succeed in Madrid and be patient to wait for a moment when Zinedine Zidane rarely plays him in his first period.

“I hope Luka is successful (in Madrid), but he won’t do it easily. He’s a player who has shone on Eintracht and I hope he is good enough to wear the Madrid white jersey,” Petkovic hoped when talking with Marca.

“Many great players have been wearing this jersey, that’s for sure. He’s a striker for the future, with speed and strength, offering different things compared to (Karim) Benzema. I hope they are patient with him.”

“He will have a chance (playing regularly), although he may not play much at first. After that, the situation will depend on him,” concluded Petkovic.
