Demanded to Resign by Tottenham Supporters, Mourinho defends Daniel Levy
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Jose Mourinho defended Daniel Levy after Tottenham fans planned to put up banners containing their demands to ask Levy to step down. The banner will be installed during the north London derby which will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday evening.
The group that made the 650 Pounds banner promised more people would voice their protest to the club’s leader, Daniel Levy and the club’s owner, Enic if they did not see any progress on the field.
“We believe this needs to be done, because of the Champions League finalists, almost equaling to Liverpool, we are now ten steps behind,” a spokesman for the group said as reported by the Daily Mail.
“Being in front of Arsenal, being a club under a club that has three managers during one season, this might be their worst season.
“Levy and Enic must invest in this club and allow us to challenge the title.
“We hope this can be a concern for the club and maybe it can make them think, we will continue with more protests, banners and actions if the club does not respond with positive action.”
Manager Jose Mourinho quickly defended Levy by citing many reasons which made it difficult for the Spurs, who are currently ranked tenth in the Premier League standings.
“See the message is very simple, namely the supporters are not happy, no one in this club is happy,” Mourinho stated.
“If fans aren’t happy and I’m happy, Mr. Levy is also happy, captain is happy, then that will cause big problems because our ambitions cannot match the ambitions and desires of fans, but when we all feel the same, then this is the best message we can provide. “I’m not sure that next season will be filled with negative episodes like we experienced from day one, I have no problem saying our next season will be better than this season, no doubt.”
