DBasia.news – Good news for Chelsea fans. The reason, Derby County reportedly permitted Frank Lampard to negotiate with the Blues.
Chelsea are looking for a new manager after Maurizio Sarri decided to leave. Sarri returned to Italy, this time to replace Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus.
Since then, several names have been linked to Chelsea. However, Frank Lampard, who is a former midfielder, has become a strong candidate for a new manager.
Unfortunately, Derby County as Frank Lampard’s current club do not give permission. The Rams want Chelsea to pay compensation for the 41-year-old manager’s contract.
As a result, the negotiation process between Chelsea and Frank Lampard became complicated. The Blues did not intend to look for a manager other than Lampard.
Finally, the permission awaited from Derby County came out. Now Chelsea can freely negotiate with Frank Lampard after getting the green light.
“Derby County can confirm, have permitted Chelsea to negotiate with Frank Lampard. They will offer a vacant position at Stamford Bridge,” wrote the official Derby County statement.
“With pre-season almost starting for both clubs, Derby County hopes that Chelsea can immediately complete the discussion process. We will not make further comments about this,” the paper added.
Frank Lampard defended Chelsea in 648 games in various competitions since 2001. During this period, Lampard presented a variety of prestigious trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League.
