DBasia.news – Borussia Dortmund failed to distance themselves from the pursuit of Bayern Munich after being defeated by FC Augsburg.
Appearing as a superior team, Dortmund had difficulty developing the game. They were unable to keep up with the fast game and tactics exhibited by Augsburg.
In the 24th minute, the home team managed to score the first goal. South Korean striker Ji Dong-Won managed to break Roman Buerki’s goal using the turmoil that occurred in the mouth of Der BVB’s goalkeeper.
Disadvantaged, Dortmund came out attacking to equalize. However, their attack could be broken by the back line of Augsburg who played brilliantly. The first round ended with a 1-0 advantage for the home side.
In the second half, Augsburg again managed to trouble Der BVB’s back line. However, the visitors did not stay silent. They have succeeded several times to release dangerous attacks that have not yet met the target.
Their hard work also paid off in the 68th minute. Ji Dong-Won managed to score his second goal in this match. The former Sunderland player managed to break into Roman Buerki’s goal after taking advantage of an error from Jadon Sancho.
Dortmund finally scored through Paco Alcacer in the 80th minute. However, goals from Alcacer failed to avoid the visitors’ defeat and the match ended with a score of 2-1 for the home team.
