Ed Woodward Affirms Give Support to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United Deputy Chief Executive, Ed Woodward confirmed the club is committed to providing support to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as coach of the Red Devils. Solskjaer received a lot of criticism because his team played inconsistently since the start of the new season.
A number of speculations regarding the names of potential successors for Solskjaer have emerged, such as Mauricio Pochettino. The former Tottenham Hotspur player is still unemployed. In addition, there is the name Massimiliano Allegri, including a name that is said to replace Solskjaer.
“On the field, while there is still hard work going forward to achieve greater consistency, we remain fully committed to the positive path that we are following under Ole as the team continues,” Woodward said as quoted by Tribalfootball, Friday (13/11).
Woodward also said he missed playing in front of a live fan. The club is trying to get fans to come directly to the field with guaranteed safety. They are currently establishing talks with local authorities.
Solskjaer’s position has received the spotlight in recent weeks. Man United’s never-improving appearance is a factor. The Red Devils played like no good organization, especially in defense.
A number of MU legends also criticized Solskjaer’s troops. One of them is former MU defender Rio Ferdinand. He criticized MU’s poor defense.
Therefore, Ferdinand suggested that this summer transfer market prioritize buying a defender over Jadon Sancho.
The defeat of the Red Devils to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League added to the pressure on Solskjaer. Because it is not just defeat that is highlighted but their bad game. But Solskjaer breathed a little relieved when they won 3-1 over Everton in the Premiere League.
