Eden Hazard Half the Strength of Chelsea This Season

So, if Chelsea fails to defend Hazard from Real Madrid’s pursuit, then they can lose half of the power next season. Moreover, there is only Christian Pulisic who came from Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea cannot purchase players during the two transfer periods because of FIFA’s penalties related to violations of recruits of underage players. Aside from Pulisic, the only players who come this season are on loan at other clubs.

Nevertheless according to the former England national team player and Liverpool legend, John Barnes, Chelsea must be able to move on (move forward) without Eden Hazard – if released to Madrid. Barnes have made Liverpool an example when releasing Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

“I think they (Chelsea) must be free from Eden Hazard. I think Liverpool, when Coutinho leaves, is a much better team,” Barnes told beIN Sport.

“I think the influence of Hazard in the team is so great that wherever he goes you have to give them the ball. They have good players and they can’t show the quality (when there is Hazard).”
