Emre Can Reveals his Reason for Leaving Juventus

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Borussia Dortmund’s newest player, Emre Can, revealed his reason for leaving the Italian giant club, Juventus. Can was with the Bianconeri for only one season.

Can joined Juve from Liverpool in the summer of 2018. In his debut season under the direction of Massimiliano Allegri, Can was played 37 times in all competitions to help the Bianconeri win the Scudetto and the Italian Super Cup.

However, after Allegri was replaced by Sarri, Can’s fortune also changed. The 26-year-old player has only played twice as a starter in eight appearances in the Italian League and was even dropped from Juventus’s squad for the Champions League.

The lack of playing hours provided by Sarri has infuriated Can. The former Bayern Munich and Liverpool player needs enough playing opportunities to secure his place in the German national team as he will play in the 2020 European Cup.

In the process, Can returned to Germany on loan at Borussia Dortmund on the January exchange. It didn’t take long for Can to convince Dortmund to be permanent.

“The main reason I left Juventus was because I wanted to play football again,” Can told Kicker. “Certainly the possibility of appearing in the European Cup is also influential. I want to be part of the German national team.”

“Sarri came in the summer and didn’t train us in the first few weeks as he had pneumonia. Then after the club refused many offers for me and dropped me off the list, he told me by phone for 20 seconds that I wasn’t in the Champions League squad. “

“After the call, I was not given another chance. I thought it was unfair and that’s why I decided to move in January. But the decision has nothing to do with the club or fans,” explained Can.
