Ernesto Valverde Has Additional Options After Signing A One Season Contract In Barcelona

DBasia.news –  Through the club’s official website, Barcelona has confirmed to have extended Ernesto Valverde’s contract on Friday, February 15, 2019. The coach agreed to handle Lionel Messi and his mates until the 2019-2020 season.

The Athletic Bilbao former coach has began training Barcelona in the 2017-2018 season. On his debut, the 55-year-old coach won two titles namely LaLiga and Copa del Rey. In 2018-2019, he has added another title, the Spanish Super Cup.

So far, Ernesto Valverde has led Barcelona to 96 matches. Of those amount, El Barca has achieved 65 wins, 22 draws and nine defeats.

More in detail, out of the 65 wins was produced in 43 matches in Spain, 11 in the Copa del Rey, 10 in the Champions League and one in the Spanish Super Cup.

With that record, Barcelona decided to increas Ernesto Valverde’s services until the end of next season. In addition, El Barca also has the option to add another year.

“FC Barcelona and the main team coach have reached an agreement to extend the contract between the two parties for the 2019-2019 season and another season option. The signing of the extension will take place on Friday ,February 15 at 10:15 a.m. CET in the Presidential Suite at Camp No,” Barcelona stressed .

According to statistics from Barcelona’s official website, Luis Suarez is a player with the highest playing minutes in the Valverde era with as many as 7,026 minutes. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi became the most fertile player with a score of 74 goals.

Barcelona is currently trying to increase the contract duration of several important figures in the club. Besides Valverde, according to the president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, El Barca is also negotiating with Messi and Jordi Alba.
