By db-admin
DBasia.news – Marc-Andre ter Stegen performed brilliantly for Barcelona. Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde praised him.
Barcelona underwent Matchday 1 of the 2019-2020 Champions League by visiting the headquarters of Borussia Dortmund, Signal Iduna Park. The match took place on Tuesday (17/9).
In that match, Barcelona had difficulty dismantling the Borussia Dortmund defense. In fact, the Blaugrana almost conceded when the referee pointed the white dot.
Luckily for Barcelona, Marc-Andre ter Stegen successfully threw the ball shot by Marco Reus. The goalless score lasts until the game ends.
After the match, Ernesto Valverde praised Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Valverde regards Ter Stegen as Barcelona’s hero against Borussia Dortmund.
“This was a difficult match with an extraordinary atmosphere. Barcelona suffered, especially after the break and Borussia Dortmund played very dangerous,” Ernesto Valverde said.
“Barcelona looked dominant, but we missed three or four balls. Borussia Dortmund’s counter-attack is very fast and they play very well.”
“Borussia Dortmund made it difficult for us, fortunately, there was Marc-Andre ter Stegen. We have to thank Ter Stagen for having a great goalkeeper,” he continued.
These results make there are no winners in Group F of the 2019-2020 Champions League. Apart from Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona who played goallessly, Inter Milan was held 1-1 by Slavia.
