DBasia.news – Barcelona’s superstar, Lionel Messi, did not move at Anfield, Liverpool’s headquarters. The Liverpool midfielder who played it, Fabinho, revealed the recipe for success in doing it.
Liverpool won 4-0 against Barcelona in the 2018-2019 Champions League semi-final second leg. The victory made the Reds lead 4-3 aggregate over Barcelona.
One of the recipe for victory is to lock Lionel Messi’s movements. Jurgen Klopp gave the task to Fabinho.
“The whole team survived. As I said, we left our lives on the pitch,” Fabinho said as reported by Soccerway.
“I tried to do everything so that the ball did not come to Lionel Messi,” said the former AS Monaco player.
Fabinho believes tat Divock Origi’s quick goal at the start of the match was very crucial for Liverpool. Fabinho was thrilled that Liverpool was able to restore the situation.
“We don’t have much time after a very challenging match at Newcastle. However, we are preparing for the whole season to experience such a moment,” Fabinho explained.
“After the first match I did not overcome the results well . We tried to do the same thing which was pressing and giving everything. However, we scored quickly and it made a difference.”
“We still have the power to reach the ball until the end. After the match with our supporters, that is an extraordinary thing,” Fabinho said.
Liverpool will face the winner of the match, Ajax Asmterdam against Tottenham Hotspur in other semi-final matches. The plan, the final match will be held at Wanda Metropilitano Stadium, June 1, 2019.
