AC Milan vs Lazio
DBasia.news – AC Milan once again inhabited the top four of Serie A after winning 1-0 against rivals, Lazio at San Siro in the 32nd week of Serie A, Sunday (4/14) morning.
Milan reclaimed the fourth place from the hands of AS Roma, who previously won 1-0 against Udinese. Both teams are only one point adrift and Milan’s position is still not entirely safe, as they are also only three points clear of Atalanta in sixth place.
Down with Gennaro Gatusso’s 4-3-3 mainstay tactics, Milan relied on trio Suso, Krzysztof Piatek, and Fabio Borini on the front lines. While Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio played with a 3-5-2 formation.
The match ran tightly between the two teams as possession between the two teams was relatively balanced. Milan have 55 percent of control compared to 45 percent of Lazio. Both teams have the opportunity to excel in the first half and failed to use it well.
A 0-0 score adorned the first half of the match. In the second half, the problem for Gattuso who could not play Gianluigi Donnarumma, Lucas Paqueta, Giacomo Bonaventura, due to injury, increased as Alessio Romagnoli and Davide Calabria were also injured.
But, that did not prevent Milan from returning to the pace of victory, after going through four matches in a row in Serie A without ever winning. Milan’s patience in building the attack finally paid off sweetly with a penalty in the 79th minute.
Riza Durmisi, a Lazio player, carelessly hit Mateo Musacchio to the farthest in Lazio’s 16 meter area. Franck Kessie was appointed as executor and carried out his duties well. Milan won 1-0.
That advantage is able to be maintained until the end of the fight. After the game ended, there was a commotion between the two players who were suspected of starting or triggered by the commotion between Luiz Felipe and Borini.
The riots involved both the players and the coaching staff of the two teams, but was able to be arbitrated and not become worse. In that condition, Lazio was easily upset because of frustration of failing to win at San Siro.
The failure worsen Lazio’s record of never wining at San Siro since Paolo Maldini’s own goal in 1989. Now, Lazio have a poor record of 11 draws and 18 defeats at the San Siro in Serie A.
