Following Premier League’s Steps, Serie A Inaugurated Regulation of 5 Substitution Players

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has inaugurated a rule of five substitutions in one match to be applied to Serie A. This rule will run until the 2019-2020 season ends.

The regulation to increase the number of substitutions is aimed at protecting players from the threat of fatigue or injury. It was not apart from the tight schedule of matches until the end of the season.

Serie A will roll back starting June 20th after being suspended since mid-March. Each club plans to play every three days to cut the completion time.

The regulation of the five substitutions has actually been discussed by FIFA. The basis is due to the tight competition schedule as effect of the corona virus pandemic delay.

Bundesliga which has rolled back since May 16th has implemented it. The same thing will also be done at Premier League.

Even so, each club will only have three opportunities aside from the first half to make substitutions. So if they want to maximize this regulation, then they must replace more than one player in each of these opportunities.

It is intended that the match is not stopped too often. So, clubs cannot use this rule to waste time.

The five player substitution rules will begin to be applied in the Coppa Italia semifinals on June 12th. While the Serie A will be rolled a week after.
