DBasia.news – This season is believed to be a season of glory for English clubs who are still participating in two European club tournaments: the Europa League and the Champions League.
Starting from the highest caste, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur became representatives of England in the Champions League semifinals. Tottenham’s entry into that phase was a surprise given the opponents and the journey they faced.
Harry Kane and friends are in a deadly group with Barcelona, Inter Milan, and PSV Eindhoven. However, Tottenham Hotspur can still advance to the knockout phase after finishing second.
Next, Tottenham again showed spurs after getting rid of another English club, Manchester City in the quarter-finals. In fact, reflecting on squad material and performance in the Premier League, The Citizens are superior.
Meanwhile, Liverpool showed consistency in the Champions League. Last season, Mohamed Salah and his friends were able to advance to the final. Although, he finally gave up from Real Madrid 3-1.
The pace of Liverpool also cannot be underestimated. Because, until now the Reds had a great chance to win the Premier League title.
In the semifinals, Liverpool will elbow each other with Barcelona. Meanwhile, Tottenham will fight with Dutch representatives, Ajax Amsterdam.
In the Europa League, England also still has two representatives in the semifinals. Arsenal who succeeded getting rid of Napoli will face Valencia. Meanwhile, Chelsea got a test from the German representative, Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to Opta’s records, this is the first time there have been four English teams in the semifinal round of European elite competition since the 1983-1984 season. That way, the league’s best label is indeed still worth embedding for the Premier League, right?
