Frank Lampard Calls Manchester United Lucky Often Helped by VAR

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Frank Lampard questions the decision of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) which often benefits Manchester United. According to him, Man United was too lucky for that.

Chelsea will meet Manchester United in the FA Cup semifinals on Monday (7/20/2020) early morning hrs. The two teams’ duel is planned to be held at Wembley Stadium.

Ahead of the Man United vs. Chelsea match, Lampard launched an ‘attack’ on The Red Devils camp. The Blues manager blamed Marcus Rashford and friends often benefited from the VAR’s decision.

Quoting from Omnisport, Lampard’s criticism refers to the fact that MU has received a total of 13 penalties in the English League so far. VAR also has annulled seven goals against Manchester United in the Premier League.

The latest, controversial VAR decision occurred when Manchester United won 2-0 at Crystal Palace on Friday (7/17). The latest football technology annulled Jordan Ayew’s goal because the Palace player was considered offside with a different end of the shoe, and did not punish Victor Lindelof for fouling Wilfried Zaha in the forbidden box.

“I think when you look at the old days, people say [the decision] has benefited the big team, is it because of pressure, is it because of the influence of fans, I don’t know. But those days are over,” said Lampard , as reported by Omnisport.

“VAR tries to change it and is present to not benefit the teams, but to make the right decision. Even so there is always a human factor in VAR where they clearly determine the decision,” Lampard added.

“Confusing things have happened a number of times and in the game last night it was really a decision that was clearly wrong, but was not reviewed or changed. Some of them were left alone, this is certainly strange.”

“I think sometimes you have to face VAR with a cool head, some of the decisions might hurt you or not. But in the case of Manchester United, they often get decisions that benefit them,” Lampard said.
