Frank Lampard’s hopes for Arrizabalaga

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Frank Lampard, Chelsea manager, hopes Kepa Arrizabalaga will rise from adversity and return to his best performance.

Kepa, 25, was substituted when Chelsea drew 2-2 with Leicester City before the winter break and was replaced by Willy Caballero. The former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper was reserved for a blunder he did in the match against Newcastle United.

Lampard, learning from his experience as a player, assessed that backing up players whose performance declined was nothing new in the world of football. That should be a motivation for the players concerned.

“That’s the reality of life, football, our careers. Everyone has these things and you can’t pull wool out of their eyes (pretend) or be too sweet about it, because that’s what it is. The only thing I have found that made me return to the team was hard work at the training ground. “

“If you will sulk and if I’ve ever sulked, I will immediately try to read for myself and realize that I can only influence one thing, and that is the way I practice to be ready to play,” said Lampard on Goal.

“I was lucky as a player here as I played a lot of games. Maybe in my early 30s I changed a little, and at that time I didn’t like it, I remember that feeling.”

“But then you have to be a team-mate, and you have to be part of the club and you have to accept it, and sometimes you have to find another way, and understand that things are a little different.

Lampard only hopes that Kepa would respond to his gesture with motivation to perform better, not upset for not being played until finally sulking.

“That’s just my story, everyone is a little different, but with the competition in the current squad, I think you always have to realize that if your standards go down or if the manager chooses for whatever reason, and that can happen, and handle it the right way, “Lampard added.

“I don’t expect smiling faces when people are backed up, I only expect reactions, I expect support from teammates there.”

“It’s not easy, I say this as a manager, I know as a player myself I am not brilliant at this, but from where I sit now I try and encourage it, and I think sometimes it can be something that makes you stronger.”

“Most people get it at a certain point in their careers. So that’s how it is,” concluded Lampard.
