Lazar Markovic
DBasia.news – Fulham officially get Lazar Markovic from Liverpool on the closing day of the January 2019 transfer window.
This 24-year-old player was taken by Fulham at no cost or free.
“Fulham can confirm the recruitment of Lazar Markovic on a free transfer from Liverpool. With an agreement until the end of this season,” Fulham’s official statement.
Fulham also revealed the decision to hook Markovic was based on the recommendation of their striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic. Both players did become team-mates at Partizan Belgrade in the 2012-2013 season.
Markovic is actually still under contract with Liverpool until the end of summer 2019. However, Liverpool chose to end it sooner and provide compensation for salaries of 1.7 million pounds.
The player who has shined with Benfica failed to shine at Liverpool. He is also classified as an easily injured player. As a result, Markovic is more of a loan player in the remaining contracts since the 2015-2016 season. He has been loaned to Fenerbahce, Sporting CP, Hull City, and Anderlecht.
