DBasia.news – Bad luck has befallen the former Leeds United and Liverpool legend Garry McAllister. The Glasgow Rangers assistant manager was the victim of an attack at Leeds.
Reported by the Mirror, the 54-year-old man received an attack from an unknown person while waiting for a taxi in downtown Leeds, Sunday (24/3) WIB. The stranger allegedly throw a few punches at McAllister’s face, before his wife, Haley, tried to pull the attacker away from her husband.
The attack itself had serious consequences with the former Scotland national team player having to be hospitalized. The same source also stated that McAllister’s face had to get 10 to 12 stitches. The motive for this attack itself is still unclear, but the family is reluctant to comment further.
McAllister and his wife were in England on Saturday to watch the Liverpool vs AC Milan Legends match held at Anfield. Before retiring in 2003, this 57 caps pack figure for Scotland had a number of achievements, especially with Leeds United and Liverpool.
With Leeds, he won the Premier League and FA Cup in 1992, while with Liverpool, he brought the Reds to the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup in 2001.
