Gary Neville Doubtful about Frank Lampard’s Statement on Kepa Arrizabalaga

DBasia.news – Manchester United legend Gary Neville admitted that he did not believe the statement made by Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, who said he was happy with the performance with the Blues goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalega. Kepa was in the spotlight for his blunder against Brighton & Hove Albion, Tuesday (15/9).

Lampard previously said he was disappointed with Kepa’s performance last season. Therefore, Lampard is looking for a replacement goalkeeper for Kepa in the transfer market this summer. However, after the match, Lampard conveyed the opposite to the press that he was happy with Kepa.

“I’m very happy with Kepa. With that shot, I’m not sure if he can do better. But I look a little more confident with the way he plays,” said Lampard as quoted by the Daily Star on Tuesday (15/9).

Neville also saw that Lampard’s words were just nonsense. Lampard is considered to only carry out his duty, namely conveying in front of the media that his team is doing well.

“I don’t think he’s happy. I am not going to. I know fully in the coaching position, in the dressing room. You have to support your goalkeeper, you have to support your players,” said Neveille.

The Spanish goalkeeper conceded a lot from outside the penalty box last season the same thing happened against Brighton. Kepa’s failure to block Leandro Trossard’s shot, according to Neville, would clearly harm Lampard if he didn’t have a top goalkeeper.

“You are not going to win the league and at the moment he is making too many mistakes and allowing too many goals against the goal that should be saved,” concluded Neville.
