The AC Milan goalkeeper’s blunder, Gianluigi Donnarumma, against Sampdoria had a ‘gift’ for the goalkeeper. Of course not as he wishes, the prize was a satire.
In Italy, there is a satirical humor program called Stricia la Notizia. The program often gives awards named the Tapiro d’Oro for footballers who have bad luck as an April Fool’s Form.
In the 2019 edition, Gianluigi Donnarumma was unlucky to win the award. The blunder he did when AC Milan traveled to Sampdoria headquarters was the reason.
In the match, Gianluigi Donnarumma made a mistake when a new match began. The result, Gregoire Defrel was able to hit the ball against AC Milan.
After receiving the award, Gianluigi Donnarumma also revealed his reaction. Donnarumma claimed to receive support from his colleagues at AC Milan.
“The blunder has already happened. What should I do? My team mates tried to cheer me up and asked me not to think about it,” said Gianluigi Donnarumma.
“According to them, it will be in vain (think of the award). AC Milan must look at the next match and try to win.”
“We have an important match that must be won. AC Milan still has the chance to end the season in the top four,” Gianluigi Donnarumma added.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is AC Milan’s main keeper. Throughout the 2018-2019 season, Donnarumma recorded 32 matches in various competitions and conceded 28 times.
