Guangzhou Evergrande Activate Paulinho Release Clause

DBasia.news – Barcelona confirmed Paulinho’s transfer to Chinese Super League club, Guangzhou Evergrande. Paulinho was signed with £38M transfer fee.

In 20167 summer transfer market, Barcelona signed Paulinho worth 40 million euro. After a season at Camp Nou, the 30-year-old player showed an impressive performance and returned to Brasil national team during the 2018 World Cup.

But, he decided to return to China not too long after the 2018 World Cup. At first, Guangzhou Evergrande sent Paulinho home with a loan status. But, the Chinese club finally activated the release clause during the winter transfer market.

“The Board of Directors has been informed that Guangzhou Evergrande has already made the purchase clause of the player Paulinho effective, in accordance with the agreement signed last July, after a transfer period,” said Barcelona official statement.

During his period in Barcelona, he scored 9 goals from 49 caps of all competitions. This season, he showed an impressive performance in China.
