Phil Foden

DBasia.news – Phil Foden performed impressively when Manchester City won 3-0 against Oxford United in the 2018 EFL League. Foden also gained the compliment from many parties.

In that match, Phil Foden created the first goal of Manchester City scored by Gabriel Jesus. After that, Foden created the assist for Riyad Mahrez.

Manchester City’s winning also executed by Phil Foden’s goal. The British midfielder finished the passing from Raheem Sterling before the match ended.

Pep Guardiola believed Manchester City could rely on Phil Foden in the future. The Spanish manager assumed Foden as a great player.

Andres Iniesta

“This guy is so special, a City fan and he loves the club. You see it in his behavior and every single action. He is already a great, great football player,” Pep Guardiola said.

“I don’t remember (my first goal), I’m sure it was good but it was a long time ago. Phil, hopefully, it will be the first of many. Manchester City have a player for the next years,” he continued.

However, Pep Guardiola won’t mention Phil Foden as the new Andres Iniesta. The manager won’t give pressure to the player.

“I am not going to say he is going to become Andres Iniesta because it puts pressure on him,” Pep Guardiola said.

“Iniesta is by far one of the best players I ever saw in my life so we cannot put the pressure on Phil,” Pep Guardiola added.
