DBasia.news – Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick congratulated Paris Saint-Germain’s success in the Champions League semifinals. However, he thinks his team deserves to qualify more.

Bayern, who needed to chase a 2-3 defeat at home last week, attacking from the early minutes at the Parc des Princes, Wednesday (4/14/2021) am, WIB, in the continued second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

According to the official UEFA website, Bayern appeared dominant with 54% ball possession and made 15 attempts, eight of which were on goal.

Meanwhile, PSG was equally ferocious in making opportunities, six on goal out of a total of 10 attempts. The match ran tight and finally conceded also in the 40th minute.

Bayern led 1-0 through Eric Choupo-Moting’s goal which maximized the rebound from his partner’s shot which was pushed over by Keylor Navas. After scoring that one goal, Bayern tried to add more but several of their attempts failed.

Until the match ended, the score 1-0 for Bayern’s victory lasted but not enough to qualify for the semifinals. Bayern lost 3-3 on aggregate away goals.

The results were disappointing for Flick considering Bayern’s status as defending champions. Moreover, Bayern appeared dominant during the two legs of this quarterfinal.

In the first leg, Bayern went even crazier by creating 31 attempts. 12 of them were on goal. PSG even only released four shots on target from a total of six or one-fifth of Bayern.

“Looking at the first leg, with the many chances we created and one goal awarded; without the third goal, we would have gone through, you see how dangerous they are when they attack,” Flick told Sky Germany.

“I highly applaud my team, even though it was Paris who qualified. But as a losing team, I want to congratulate them (PSG),” continued Hansi Flick.
