Harry Maguire Becomes the New Captain of Manchester United
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United named Harry Maguire as the new captain after Ashley Young, who officially joined Inter Milan. Maguire will debut as Manchester United’s new captain against Liverpool this weekend at Anfield.
This certainty was confirmed by United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in an interview with Sky Sports. Young himself became captain since replacing Antonio Valencia at the start of this season.
“Young is 35 this summer and if offered a two-year contract somewhere, he must decide for himself whether to take it,” Solskjaer said about Young’s future.
“We are not ready to offer that. He has been a good steward for the club, captain and won the trophy. However, we replaced him.”
“Harry Maguire has worn the armband and will continue to wear it. He came and became a leader in the group. I was impressed with his leadership,” said Solskjaer.
“Harry is a leader. He is part of the squad and leads this young group.”
