If Bring in Mauricio Pochettino, Manchester United Is Financially Threatened
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Rumors of the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the new manager of Manchester United are increasingly being heard. If this happens, the Red Devils are prepared to suffer huge financial losses.
Manchester United officials are now in a dilemma after separating from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They are undecided between appointing an interim coach until the end of the season or directly attracting big names as soon as possible.
After sacking Solskjaer, Manchester United officials appointed Michael Carrick as caretaker. The man who previously served as assistant coach was trusted to lead Cristiano Ronaldo and his friends in the away match against Villarreal, Wednesday (24/11).
However, Carrick will not hold the position for long. Manchester United intend to find someone more experienced to work until the end of the season.
After that the new club officials worked to find a top manager to be given a long-term contract. The names of Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane, and Erik ten Hag are the strongest candidates.
But Pochettino is reportedly interested in joining Manchester United soon. He was even willing to leave the star-studded squad of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
This latest condition in fact makes Manchester United in a dilemma. Huge losses on the financial side are in sight.
Manchester United did have to spend a lot of money to bring in Pochettino. PSG certainly will not allow the manager to leave for free.
Manchester United’s spending will increase to pay Pochettino which is certainly not cheap. Not to mention the tactician’s request to strengthen his squad in the winter transfer market.
Another problem also arises from the coaching staff left by Solskjaer. Carrick and a number of other right-handers will almost certainly leave if Pochettino arrives in the near future.
Ironically, Manchester United only gave them a new contract just a week before Solskjaer was sacked. That makes the club provide compensation costs that are not small to them.
The final decision now rests with Manchester United’s board of directors. The result of the match against Villarreal can also determine the path to be taken.
