Ighalo: Greenwood’s Quality is Similar to Van Persie

DBasia.news – Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo has given high praise for the quality shown by Mason Greenwood throughout the season. So much so, Ighalo claimed that Greenwood had the qualities possessed by Robin van Persie.

Greenwood is one of the players from the Manchester United football academy who was given the chance to promote to the first team in the 2019/20 season.

Although initially his presence in the first team was doubtful, but the 18-year-old young player managed to prove himself worthy of being part of the Red Devils squad.

After appearing in 36 matches in all competitions, Greenwood managed to contribute 12 goals and four assists for his team.

No wonder Greenwood’s slick performance garnered a lot of praise from many parties. One of them is Ighalo who mentioned that Greenwood has exceptional quality at a relatively young age.

Even Ighalo claims the quality of Greenwood is exactly the same as the greatness possessed by Van Persie, a sharp striker from the Netherlands who had defended MU several years ago.

“He’s a great player, I even see him as Robin van Persie,” Ighalo stated.

“You know, Mason can shoot equally well with both feet. He is also a smart player. He is young, and not afraid when in front of the opponent’s goal,” he concluded.
