Iker Casillas has a heart attack, Jose Mourinho is the first to notice

DBasia.news – Legendary goalkeeper, Iker Casillas stated that Jose Mourinho was one of the first people to contact him after suffering a heart attack in 2019.
Casillas, who has 167 caps for the Spanish national team, had a serious health problem in May last year. He suffered a heart attack during a training session with FC Porto in Portugal. He was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, and he admitted that he would have almost died.
“I was very lucky with what happened, unfortunately it didn’t happen to everyone,” Casillas told ESPN.
“It has changed me. You have to do the things you love and live your life.”
“I see people I haven’t seen in a long time. It makes you appreciate the little things in life. You are more alive by the day, you stop just being in your own little world. I focus on what I can do today and not worry about tomorrow or next week. “
“I felt that I would have definitely died that day, and circumstances forced me to reconsider everything. I am a privileged person. If I can continue to play football, I will.”
Casillas previously played under Mourinho at Real Madrid, where he played his entire career, but the relationship was fractured by the Portuguese coach’s decision to let him go to Porto in 2015.
However, Mourinho showed his class by paying attention to Casillas. He contacted the former player who decided to retire from playing football in the summer of 2020 to find out how he was doing during the crisis.
“Many people did not know, but Jose Mourinho was one of the first people to contact me, to find out how I was,” added Casillas.
Casillas was later seen hugging Mourinho at the FIFA congress, which he acknowledged as an emotional moment.
Casillas has the most appearances for Real Madrid of all time, behind Raul Gonzales, and he has won three La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.
