Inter Milan made Edinson Cavani as Romelu Lukaku’s Alternative

Edinson Cavani

DBasia.news –  Inter Milan began to shift their focus from Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United striker, to PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) striker Edinson Cavani.

Reporting from Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter began to turn their attention to the 32-year-old striker. Cavani, although more senior (old) than Lukaku, he is more realistic to be recruited by Antonio Conte’s Inter.

First, Cavani’s contract expires next year with PSG. Under these conditions, PSG will release him for free next year if Cavani fails to sign a new contract. Secondly, the Uruguayan striker already has experience playing in Serie A.

For three years in the period 2007-2010 Cavani had defended Napoli. That experience, plus playing hours at international level, will facilitate the adaptation process at Inter.

PSG purchased Cavani for 50 million euros. The price is relatively cheaper than Lukaku, which is valued at 70-80 million euros. Moreover, Inter received tough competition from Juventus who are also interested in recruiting Lukaku.

There is news from Calciomercato which discusses the potential barter scheme of players (plus cash) between Man United and Juventus. Lukaku has the potential to dock in Turin, while the Bianconeri player, Douglas Costa, leaves for Old Trafford.

Furthermore, Cavani will be contracted with a duration of three years and revenues of nine million euros per year by Inter. As a result, it is natural and logical if Cavani is made an alternative if Inter fails to recruit Conte.

Cavani’s chance to head to Inter Milan: 50%

Six years of strengthening PSG could have made Cavani bored and wanted to try new challenges. If Inter’s offer is true, plus they have difficulty recruiting Lukaku, Cavani could have docked at Giuseppe Meazza.
