DBasia.news –  Inter has Milan finally completed the transfer of former Atletico Madrid captain, Diego Godin. The player was recruited for free because his contract ended with Atletico.

Inter Milan have been widely reported to have gotten Diego Godin’s signature since a few months ago. In fact, the player is reported to have performed a medical test.

Diego Godin’s move to Inter Milan became even more apparent after the player announced he would leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the 2018-2019 season. Although not divulging the club’s purpose, some media in Italy and Spain believe he will go to Inter Milan.

“FC Internazionale Milano announced the contract was agreed with Diego Godin which will run until June 30, 2022,” Inter Milan wrote on the official website.

“Diego Godin is known to everyone as ‘jefe de la defensa’. Now, his abilities, experience and famous ‘garra’ will serve the Nerazzurri. Good luck with this new adventure at Inter, #WelcomeDiego!” continued the Nerazzurri.

Inter Milan won the battle with Manchester United who were also interested in Diego Godin. In fact, the Red Devils had already approached the 1986-born defender.

Despite entering the end of his career, Diego Godin is still at the highest level of European football. Last season, the player appeared in 39 matches with a score of four goals plus three assists.

Diego Godin will complete the three defender scheme carried by Antonio Conte. The player will work together with Stevan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar.
