Jan Oblak Opens Up an Opportunity to Join Manchester United

DBasia.news – Manchester United allegedly had anticipated the departure of David De Gea in the transfer market this summer. When De Gea leaves, the Red Devils wants Jan Oblak, Atletico Madrid goalkeeper.
De Gea, 28, has been through his eighth year in strengthening the Red Devils since moving from Atletico in 2011. The transfer rumors are currently busy being discussed publicly following interest from PSG (Paris Saint-Germain).
Coupled with the fact that De Gea’s contract is left with only one season – there is no contract extension, and the intention is to open a new page, the number one Spanish national team goalkeeper is very likely to leave this summer.
Oblak, who is two years younger than De Gea, quoted from Express, was willing to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad if De Gea left PSG. The Slovak goalkeeper is an ideal replacement for De Gea.
The former Benfica goalkeeper recorded 117 clean sheets from 208 matches with Atletico since he joined in 2014. Oblak has also helped Atletico who is under the care of Diego Simeone’s to win the Spanish Super Cup (2014), Europa League (2017-18), and European Super Cup (2018).
Shaka Hislop, a former Premier League goalkeeper, saw United’s need to bring in a new goalkeeper as De Gea’s replacement if he was to leave. As the second goalkeeper, Sergio Romero, although qualified, is not reliable to calm the back line of the team like De Gea.
“Well, you say De Gea (potentially leaving), without further questioning (United needs a new goalkeeper),” Shaka said.
“Romero will not be the goalkeeper who will lead them to challenge European positions or even the top four. To be honest, Manchester United needs reinforcement in every area,” he explained.
