January 2020, Manchester United is confirmed to be recruiting a new striker

DBasia.news –  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, confirmed the Red Devils will bring in a new striker when the winter transfer window opens. After the departure of Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United lacked players in the front line.

Man United recruited three players in the 2019 summer transfer window: Daniel James, Harry Maguire, and Aaron-Wan Bissaka. Two defenders and one wing attacker. But, they did not bring in a new striker substitute Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez who went to Inter Milan.

The blunder was paid for by United’s difficulty scoring at the moment. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were injured until United had only two young players with little experience: Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood to lead the front lines. Duvan Zapata, Mario Mandzukic, was once linked with Man United. Solskjaer now recognizes United need a new striker and potentially recruiting him in the transfer market next winter.

“When we let Alexis and Romelu, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that the attacker is the next position we will recruit. We look for creativity and goals,” Solskjaer said, quoted by Mirror.

“But, there is no point in getting a player that you are not 100 percent sure of because you get a player, you have to get the right player, who will stay here for a long time.”

“That’s long-term thinking that we have to show. I can’t think ‘I need a player because this is my reputation’. No, this is about the club. There are attackers (available) but they are not what we want. We cannot get one that we want,” he concluded.
