Jesse Lingard Targets a Second Europa League Title for Manchester United

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United midfielder, Jesse Lingard is targeting a second Europa League trophy during his career. After beating LASK 2-1 and making it to the quarter-finals, he is optimistic that MU can come out as champions.

Lingard scored one equalizer before Anthony Martial added the score and turned things around. As a result, Lingard was named the man of the match in this match.

But he said that his team’s struggle was not over and wanted to repeat the same success when MU won the second caste of the European level competition, back in 2017.

“Winning is a positive thing, especially if we advance to the next round. We can be more confident because we will finish third in the Premier League as well,” he said as quoted by the club’s official website, Thursday (6/8).

At this time, he considers the club’s performance to be slick in the Europa League. On that basis, he wants his team-mates to improve their quality to achieve their goal, to win trophies.

“With the squad that we currently have I think all players are an important part. In this competition, everyone takes part of it,” he stated.

“Winning a trophy is an extraordinary feeling that is difficult to explain. We have experienced it with the squad when we won the first (Europa League) title, 100 percent I want to win it again,” he concluded.
